Anglo-Saxon Books: History, language & culture

Our aim is to publish books on subjects that cover all aspects of Anglo-Saxon history, language and culture. We still have many gaps to fill; some bigger than others.

We aim to publish useful books at a reasonable price. Most of our titles are in the 'popular academic' category but we welcome and want to include more academic work. Our purpose is to get a better balance between gifted professional scholars and gifted amateurs with practical experience. Both have much to contribute.

We prefer texts that are well written in 'plain English' but recognise that not everyone who has something worthwhile to say is a good writer.

As a general rule we don’t publish works of fiction.

There is currently much that is very positive about Anglo-Saxon studies. We are fortunate to live in a period where there is an abundance of new techniques, information and ideas. These gifts deserve to be widely shared because they belong to everyone and should not be kept within the confines of academia.

Our aim is to make widely known and available information and ideas gained from both scholarly book work and practical experience. Most people with a love of the subject appreciate that it takes all sorts to add to the general good; there is a place for everyone who has something useful to offer.
