Anglo-Saxon Books
Our aim is to publish books about all
aspects of Anglo-Saxon history, language and culture. We still
have gaps to fill; some a lot bigger than others.
We try to publish useful books at a reasonable
price. Most of our titles are in the 'popular academic' category
but we welcome and want to include more academic work. Our purpose
is to have a good balance between gifted professional scholars
and gifted amateurs. Both have much to contribute.
We prefer texts that are well written
in 'plain English' but recognise that not everyone with something
worthwhile to say is a good writer.
As a general rule we do not publish works
of fiction.
There is currently much that is very
positive about Anglo-Saxon studies. We are fortunate to live
in a time where there is an abundance of new techniques, information
and ideas. These gifts deserve to be widely shared and not be
kept within the confines of academia.
Our aim is to make available, information
and ideas gained from both scholarly book-work and practical
experience. Most people with a love of the subject appreciate
that it takes all sorts to add to the general good; there is
a place for everyone who has something useful to offer.
